The card game "quartet" consists of a common multiple of
usually 32 cards per deck, though 36 or more exist.
Each card contains various parameters (like speed,
length, mass, etc.) and figures.
A set of 4 associated cards will be called a "book",
e.g. E1 + E2 + E3 + E4.
The goal is to obtain all cards or, alternatively,
as many books as possible from the other players.
After shuffling and dealing facedown, the stack is
held such that only one card is visible to the owner.
From this topmost card, the first player chooses one
of the technical parameters, of which he believes
having the "best" score, and speaks out his
The other mates compare their scores whereupon the
really best one trumps.
In case of more than one card matching the highest
value, all cards are left in the middle and the
original player calls again a parameter from his
next card which should make the decision.
The winner takes the gained cards and deposits at
the bottom of his stack.
Then it will be his turn to choose a new (or same)
parameter to conquer the next cards.
If a player sheds all his cards, he will get off
The game terminates when a player gathers all cards.

There can be optional variants and sub-rules

The "best" score has to be agreed upon!
In most cases, the higher value gives the asset,
but under some circumstances the lower value
will be advantageous.
